I have not bothered with the bottom side as I have full fenders and don't find the bottom side needs the protection, and the leeching only seems to happen where there's a lot of abrasion and sweat.

Thats my experience anyway.

The oven idea is a good one too, but I don't like taking it on and off the bike so I just take the heat gun to it whilst in the garage.
